h, you need to reconsider the DS. If a stock Raptor with 2 people on it can even come CLOSE to a stock DS650 with only the driver, with a head start, either the guy on the DS decided not to shift into 5th gear or that Raptor has one heck of a Wednesday motor! Trust me, I have a 02 Baja and have raced a few Raptors, and in a drag race, on any surface, barring the DS rider misses a gear or two, the DS will win. I LOVE the Raptors. I want one for my wife,(actually for me). I have rode them all and can't wait to get a Raptor, but the stock DS vs. stock Raptor in a drag race with equally experienced riders will always find the DS crossing the finish line first!!!

I haven't seen that, the only 100% stock machine I've seen that consistently pulls on Raptors is a Cannondale.

 

I purchased my Raptor because I got tired of taking a bath every time I went riding with everyone else when I had my 300EX. I will explain this problem later.

Now maybe just once a week its bath time since I am out in front with the Raptor and not getting dusted all the time.

Now I only have to carry the ten five gallon water buckets up the catwalk for the shower once a week.

Boxman, you need to learn that HP doesn't equal WIN. There hasn't been one DS take me yet!!! With equal mods of course. NOPE - not one (in a year and a half)!!!

 

Seriously Boxman, I've only been beat by piped Banshees and one DS with god knows what all done to it. I can tell you it was definitely NOT stock, cause I have raced them before and the only way they win is if the other rider is about 75 lbs lighter than me.

 

Boxman- you are dreaming, wake up, wake up. If you know the speed DS sercet tell the others. Randy knows it. (hint, hint $7000 in mods= fast DS760) all other ds's fall short.

I bought the Raptor because it's the meanest bike out there! I had no problem with it. It's the best all around bike you can buy! It has gobs of torque that other bike can't match with it!
