Got some Blaster questions. HELP
#1
I bought a Blaster that sat for 2+ years without being run. I got it home, cleaned up and worked on getting it started. I got it running, but I cant give it any gas or it dies out. Do you think the carb is gummed up? Like I said, when I give it some gas, it just falls on its face. What else could make it act like this? Any ideas? Also, Are the oil injection pumps reliable?

I would say it's the spark plug. When I got mine that's what it did. Hope that helps!

Take the carb of and go to town on it with cleaner. Maybe take off the flote boal and just get all the gum out of it.
Once a carb has been used its imposible to get all the fuel out without taking the carb of. If the previous owner just shut of the valve then there was probably some gumming up. Thats why its better to store with fuel in the carb with stable.
Also make sure your using new fuel and a new spark plugs. After 2 years of sitting i would probably change as much of the injection oil too.
And thats it. If a two stroke wont run its carb, spark, or fuel. Also make sure that the carb is attached very good. If it sucks in air from the base of the carb then it will play havok with your idle.
And in a worst case senario you might have to get the carb rebuilt. Letting it sit for 2 years could dry up the seals inside the carb allowing air to seep in causing a crap fuel mixture also making it imposibe to idle.
Good luck

after about 6 months of riding my blaster would not idle (perfectyly jetted to) and my machanic even said the only two strokes that would idle are ones with brand new carbs (just thoght you would like to know so u don`t worry about getting it to idle
as for the oil injector i waited tell mine was fresh out of warrenty to take mine off (six months) and the teeth were all read chiping
reeds very easy, take off the intake (the thing that the carb attaches to, and bolts the cylinder) if i remeber correctly it is four bolts and once you have that out there are 4 screws that hold the reeds on (two on each reed) take the two screws out take the old reeds out and put the new ones on make sure you use a little loc-tite on them (it would suck to have that little screw pulled through your engine ( it may be little but it could do a lot of damage
p.s. i prefer boysen pro-series
