removing steering stem bearing??how??

hi, i recently tore my shee down to have it powdercoated, and the bearing is the very last thing needed to come off. how do i go about getting it out?? i tried hammering from the top out the bottom, wont budge? please help me out

If you got the bearing holder out you may just have to soak it in some wd-40 for a bit. My bearing came right out but we had a hard time getting the bearing holder out that was on top.

We heated and wd the poop out of it. Then we got lucky and the tool that came with our die grinder had two prongs that stuck out to lock it down. They fit in there perfect to take it out. You could also get a nut that would fit in there and get a socket over that to take it out. Yamaha also sells the tool to take it out but i didn't see much since in that since you don't replace it very often. We did mine when we powdercoated it also. Chisel and hammer worked well too.
