The warn manual posts not to put the winch under water for liability reasons. I can tell you from experience that my winch spends most of its riding time UNDER water and has never failed me. That is what the winch is for (at least for me). I also use this winch to lift a plow and pull tree's out of the woods. Been a great winch so far. Only thing that i dont like is that you MUST re-spool the wire after every couple of uses or it seems to "rat-nest" and get tangled up. I wish there was an auto-guide that would spool the wire back into place

I know what you mean about the "rat nest" thing about the winch wire..it definatly does suck because it happened to me when i pulled my big bear out the the muck yesterday and the winch was all the way underwater. Oh what is the solenoid thing suppose to do anyways??? Also why the heck is slime so expensive! I got 3 8 oz bottles for $18 and thats not enough for two tires

A solenoid is actually a relay if it is switching electrical current. It has large surface contacts to handle the current that the winch will draw. When you either turn your bike key on, or your winch switch on, depending how it is wired, the solenoid pulls the contacts together and allows current to flow to the direction switch. Basically it allows you to switch large amounts of current with small guage wire and switches.

When i say snatchblock...i just mean for pulling your quad out of the mud, pulling trees, directing trees that are being cut, etc. I dont use the "block" on the plow.
The plow has a hook where ther winch cable hook will attach. It is hard on the fairlead and the cable using the winch. Plus, the cable will rat-nest on you if your not careful. I would recommend using just a "plow lifter", power or manual.
Sorry if i confused you at all.
