Banshee, good idea, or bad idea?
#1
Opinions welcomed. Is the banshee a good or bad idea for MX? Just wondering, I have a friend that has a crazy fast 01, with hardly anything in it($ wise). If you could get it to hook up in the dirt, I know it could pull a hell of a holeshot. But even with shocks, how would you rate it? add a couple of other quads for comparison please....Thanks.......

I wouldn't put the Banshee at the top of the list of MX quads that's for sure.
How are your local tracks? Do they have a lot of jumps or are they more old school MX type with natural hills and minimal air? If your tracks have a lot of man made jumps and are the least bit technical I would deffinatly shy away from the Banshee. 1st reason being the peaky power band...second reason being the stock suspension.
However, if your tracks have little jumps and some nice speed sections I think the Banshee would do alright. Speed deffinatly is their strong point.
My buddy races in the New England ATV MX series in the 4-stroke class and in the open class (where the Banshee's and Raptors run). He has a basically stock 400ex (setup about like mine). He said that off the line the Banshee's eat him up, but in no time at all he goes back by them.
Now if you've ever lined up a Piped Banshee and a 400ex you will see that the Banshee destroys it in a straight line. I have seen them, that is why I was so impressed when I see my buddy walk by them on the track.
Although, I have only run my Banshee on an MX track once so others opinions may be more accurate than mine.
