2001 or 2002 Big Bear?

my dad bought a Yamaha Big Bear 400 4x4. the dealer told us it was a 2001, but arent sure if it is. it has the "on-command" 4x4 system. i thought that yamaha didnt put on command 4x4 on big bears until 2002? so is it a 2001 or 2002? thanks.
