Ok the only difference between aftermarket and stock clutch springs is the tension, right? Could you get the same thing by tightening down on the stock springs? This is assuming they don't break.

If I am not mistaken, aren't the bolts fastening the spring to the clutch assembly equipped with a washer that bottoms out against the pressure plate? If so, then merely tightening the bolts with a higher torque will only push against the pressure plate more. I believe the idea behind replacing with heavier springs is because of the higher spring rate; which pushes the plates, fibers, etc., together with more pressure, allowing the clutch to "hook-up" better. That is how I understand it anyway

Maybe I was thinking that they didn't bottom out. Oh well I was just thinking. Thanks

Hey, if your clutch can handle all the tourque at low speed and can overpower the engine but slips at very high speed in high gear what does that mean? new clutch or new springs?

Clutch fibers and steels most likely. It happened to me once, on a Warrior, and it ended up just being out of adjustment.
