I Purchsed 2003 kodiak 450. On the 8th day of ownership right front knuckle assembly which is the part that connects wheel to frame broke. Very dangerous, Dealer has had the unit for two weeks. They cannot give me an estimated repair date as the part is back ordered. Wrote Yamaha Motor Corporation and Yamaha plant where unit is manufactured. There has been no reply. Anyone else with this problem? Any suggestions?

due to the fact taht the kodiak is pretty much all new for 03 I would expect delays in getting the part. IT is something that yamaha is notorious for. dealt with it when the raptor came out...R1 and 6's....cruisers...EVERYTHING

they make enough to make the units..the worry about fixing them with the parts parts part of the deal. it sucks but there isnt much u can do. and its not your dealers fault they cant get it!! I have been on all too many "oh why can YOU get my part in time" or "this is your fault I cant ride this weekend" all cause stuff was backordered when it wasnt even in my control

actually writing to Yamaha gets more done then youd think. they do actually respond to most complaints and you get farther then your dealer would actually
