well, I jetted my rappy a bit rich, so I decided to pull the airbox lid, to lean it out. It works perfect, now, but I don't feel like rejetting again, it's a pain in the @$$. So, my question is, I drilled some holes in the little flange on the stock filter, and put some screws through it, and it seems to hold up ok. will this work? I can't justify spending $100 bucks on a pro-flow adapter.

I wouldn't do it since you might have the chance the airfliter coming off. Put the lid back on.
Your call to take the risk and getting the motor ruin.

Save up the money to get the proflow....

Cut the back 3/4's of the lid off and put a better White Brothers power filter in there ($20). Use the front 1/4 of the lid to hold the filter in.

That is what I did with mine, except I use the k&n in it. It works great and I can still put the rest of the lid on to compesate for alitude changes.

that is what i did as well. if you cut right behind where the lid curves and use the first 2 clamps, it will hold it perfectly.
