When you say "hit pretty hard" do you mean bottoming out or does it just have a heavier feel to the machine. If it is bottoming out you might set the tension up a little on the front shocks. That could help you out. I never really cared very much for the mounting brackets I have seen for the Wolv. Because they put it out in front of everything else. The winch is not very well protected. I hope this helps you out.

The yamaha winch mount is a joke. You gotta look at the CMP winch mount from MUD; It puts the winch up high behind the bumper. Also relocates the oil cooler farther back out of harm's way.
Hope this helps.

THANK-YOU FOR COMING BACK TO ME THE BIKE IS JUST HEAVY IN THE FRONT AND SEEMS TO HIT A LITTLE HARDER...ILL TRY TO AJUST THE SHOCKS AND THIS MONKEY RIGGED MOUNTING SYSTEM IS HILARIOUS...I BOUGHT A COVER FOR THE WINCH AND THE BARS INCASED AROUND IT SEEMS TO PROTECT IT SO FAR..... HA HA.. I MOUNTED THE FORWARD AND BACK SWITCH RIGHT BEHIND MY LEFT THIGH IF YOUR SITTING ON THE BIKE TO HAVE EASY ACCESS.....I STILL WORRY ALOT ABOUT RUSTING THOUGH BECAUSE WE DO ALOT OF MUD AND WATER RUNNING.....WE LIVE IN THE COUNTRY WHICH MUD IS GREAT.....
