im buying a '87 Yamaha Warrior from my cousin for a REAL good price. it does not run though. it did run, but it was running rough or leaking oil from the carb or somthing and my uncle took it off and found something broke. im just going to buy a new 38mm carb. it also needs new plastic...the older warrior plastic is ugly, would a newer plactic fit it? if not, is it possible to relocate the lights near the bars like the newer models? Is there a special paint to paint plastic, it would save me alot of money. The starter does not work, and the lights may not. could i just take the battery and all off and use the pull start to start it? does it need the battery to run?

does anyone have any used parts they will be willing to sell me? it needs a new pipe, tires, clutch lever, carb, chain, front bumper, and proberly some other small stuff. im 15 and this is my first project quad, is there anything i should know before i start? tips on making it easir? i have a job so i can buy the parts.

Thanks in Advance,
Tommy B.

you better pray that you don't have any electric problems, bcuz it'll cost you an arm and a leg to fix it unless the problem is really obvious.. since its older you'll prolly have an easier time finding used parts for it at atv junk yards... good luck, it took me bout 6 months to get my 97 warrior w/minor electrical problems to even spark again..
