Default Warrior gearing...

I just bought an 03 Warrior and I'm very impressed so far. The one thing that bothers me is that I feel as though first gear is "too" low and almost useless for anything but creeping around. Has anyone added a tooth to the front gear or if that's too much then maybe taken away a few from the back? I think it should have enough power to pull a little more gear.... shouldn't it??

A lot of people "pipe it" (new exhaust of your choice) and re-jet, then go +1 on the front sprocket. The pipe adds enough power and torque that a bigger front doesn't lug the engine much. A new front sprocket is cheaper than messing with the rear.

I was kinda hoping to do it without a bunch of engine mods.... not really looking for extra HP just a useable first gear...

I did put a 14 tooth front sproket on my warrior. There is a noticable top end difference but 1st gear is still pretty useless bsides starting wheelies. But don't go too crazy bumpin up the front sproket and down the rear or else youll have no bottem end power. Try it out and see how you like it
