the 426 is faster? I rode them both back to back and I will disagree there. The 426 was faster than the CRF450 but a broken in YZ450F is a beast, I found it reved faster and pulled much futher down in the rev range without giving up any on top. I think it is faster than the KTM 520 now.
Now the WR450F will be the motor to quad with, electric start and it will have more than 4 speeds, I do not know how many but I know it will not be 4.

I thought we already discussed this, there is way more potential in the 2 stroke and rotary style engines. Although the four stroke has a massive headstart in technology for some stupid reason it will more than likely die as it is very very innefficent and dosent have the capability of becoming much more efficent where as other engine types do.

The future of ATVing is big bore motors. The reason is because the dirtbike/motorcross world is about speed, power, and lightweight. The atv world is about bragging on the engine size even if it is heavier and slower than a smaller displacement. Example: Raptor660 or DS650 vs cannondale440. Everything I hear says the cannon is faster, but everyone I ride with brags on how the raptor has the largest engine.
