Kodiak 4X4 auto vs Eiger Auto 4X4 Auto
#1
I know that this has been asked before but I need for feedback on this issue. I'm going to buy a quad this month and have narrowed it down to the Kodiak 4X4 Auto or the Suzuki Eiger 4X4 Auto. I would like to hear the pros and cons of each if possible. I'm looking for a quad that I can follow the family with but also get out there and make some dirt fly. U know what I mean? I'm 43 and I do have back issues so I do need something that will have a good ride to it. Thanks in advance for your help.

I do not have the complete answer to your question but can give so info. I am 59 have minor back problems and ride a 2000 Kodiak 4x4. With the solid rear axle the ride is somewhat rough but not any worse that any other solid axle machine. I love riding the kodiak but have found it to not be reliable in the water. I ride with guys that have Honda 300's, Kawasaki 400's, a Polaris 500, and a Suzuki 500. All perform better in the water that my Kodiak. I have put dielectric grease around the plug several times and it does help. If you have the opportunity to test ride even if only for a few blocks I would do so. I have had one honda and three yahama's over the years and am going to check out rides such as the Suzuki when I buy again. The main reason I went with the Yamaha is the dual range tranny. I hunt in some very steep hills and like to ride very slow. The machine is excellent for my use but I would try out something else if you enjoy fast trail rides.

If you go with the Kodiak make sure you get the 450 rather than the 400. The low range on the 450 alone is worth the extra $ plus the diff lock, and guage package. I have around 500 miles on my 03 450 with no problems at all. I would buy another if I had it to do over again.
