Default Blaster clutch question

My sons blaster's clutch is getting harder and harder to pull. I replaced the clutch cable and that did not seem to help. Could the clutch need lubricated or does it just need replaced. The clutch does not slip and seems to work fine, just hard to pull. Any sugestions would be appriciated.
