Well my first grab bar bent right away so I bought the AC wide grab bar. It looked great and I thought for sure there was no bending it, BUT , after several hit while riding wheelies it bent up on me. I really didn't ever hit it that hard either. So my question is which bar is stronger then the stocker and the AC wide bar? I am thinking PRM, what do you think about them? which will take the most abuse? thanks

 

Sounds like you need to custom fabricate a wheel on your grab bar? Any chance of having someone weld on a rollerblade mount or something like that? Then it would be more like a wheelie bar/grab bar.

 

I like my PRM desert grab bar, it looks VERY strong. Strong enough that now I worry about bending my sub frame[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]. I haven't over done my wheelies with it yet, atleast not on pavement.

 

My AC wide bar looks almost the same as the prm unit but it bent very easily, I would like to avoid a wheel or something like that but it is a good idea for a problem like mine. There is one spot me and my buddy ride where we have jumps and stuff setup and we do alot of wheelies out there. He has a Z400 and it has the one piece subframe-grab bar setup like the 400ex has, it takes alot of hard hits on the ground and has not bent once. Do you know if the prm grab bar is steel or aluminum?? the AC is aluminum, maybe a steel bar would take more hits?

i have the PRM desert grab bar. i have only went back on it a few times it is very solid. i reccomend it

 

I was going to the Badlands in IN. when I picked up my 02 Raptor. They require flags there, so I brought mine from Silver Lake Sand Dunes along, it's the longer style. Anyway, after about an hour or two of riding I noticed that my flag was at a 45 degree angle!! Just the weight of the flag broke the weld on the stock grab bar. I took it off and took it to the dealer and told him that I wanted the stronger GYTR version and to deduct the cost of the stock one off the price. He did.

It has been real nice. It is a ton stronger than the stock one.

 

So you are telling us that you would rather bend your subframe rather than your grab bar ? Well if thats the case try a PRM or a ARMIDILLO grab bar.. Good luck on breaking one of those .

 

I am just saying that a grab bar should be alittle stronger then tin foil! The hit that bent it was not near enough to bend the subframe, my friends Z hits the bar 10+ times a day and has not bend at all ever......

 

The PRM is way stronger than the aluminum subframe on my 01! Don't ask me how I know.
