Your suppose to ask these things before you buy.
How old is your brother?
The quad is a good quad, no suspension , has all the safety features for a first timer. Is a 4 stroke so its not going to have a lot of power for its size but will get around fine. My sons have one, they are 11 almost 12, and 13, we bought it a couple years ago and I wish I'd have bought a blaster, now I wish i'd have bough them a Banshee. The point is, if they are any older than 8 and have some sort of rideing experience these smaller quads a re a waste of time and money. jmo

i bought a 93 badger for $100 needing rear end gears. i did that and then modified a set of golf cart tires to fit on it, HELLA FUN IN THE RAIN!! after that, i switched out the little wee tires for 25" carlisles in the back and had to remove rear mud flaps. i put that in my lake countless times, not to mention the mud put next to it. i switched out the whole crankcase for the older one which had 4 gears instead of 3. faster is better. basically you can assemble it with your eyes closed! i did all that when i was 19, 150lbs. got some good pics of it in the mud and lake lol!!!!!!!!! overall, like the last post, no suspension but good quad. mine wouldnt die, so i sold it for $500 to the neighbor

Check out the link in my signature. I bought and rebuilt this for my son last Christmas, he turned 5 in April. An 8 year old can handle a much bigger and better machine, but any quad is better than no quad.
A real good rule of thumb is that a quad should not weigh more than 5 times the weight of the rider.
That means a 75lb rider can handle a 250EX, new Suzuki Z-250 or a Blaster. That's going by published dry weight, and rider weight without gear. I'm hoping Yamaha redesigns the Breeze, giving it some real suspension, and some decent styling.

Fourlix:
I was paging through old ATV magazines the other night, and ran into the article on your modified Raptorette (again). That's a cool article.
