Why is a billet clutch basket better than a stock one? Are the materials different? I notice that Hinson baskets are more expensive than other baskets, I wonder why. Someone shed some light on this. Thank You.

Billett aluminum is much stronger, a stock basket is cast & after a while grooves will form on the fingers making the clutch grabby.

I've noticed on a few different raptors there were grooves worn on the inner clutch hub. They were in 3 spots that happens to be right where that metal ring is(that has the 3 teeth that made the grooves)on the inside of the odd friction disk. What is up with that thing?I've heard some aftermarket clutches come with a regular set of plates without the metal ring, probably better without it.

What about the pressure plate? Has anyone had any trouble with it going out. I didnt see too many aftermarket mail order ones offered, but i noticed that GYTR has offered a billet pressure plate? WTF, little knowledge sharing please. Thank you.

again the billit pressure plate is stronger and will hold better . they do not make a billit plate or inner hub for the 500 so i sent mine to hinsen and had the hard anodize them for longer life . the gytr is good also . any upgrade will give you more reliability and a better working clutch . hope these posts helped you .

Just FYI most all aftermarket baskets are made by the same company and then dispersed and stamped with what each individual company wants. This information came from 3 different basket companies I talked to. Big price difference between say a Magnum basket and a Hinson basket.
