Default 660 Problem

Friend has a problem with his 660. (I used the search function to try to avoid repeat posts so forgive me if I missed it.) Bike has been very reliable so far but lately very hard to start when cold. Not very celd either about 30-40s. Floods almost instantly, I pulled the plug spunout the liquid gas and dried the plug and finally got it started. After it is warm, starts fine. Runs great too. But the next morning, the same thing. At first I thought he had just flooded it, but not I think there is a problem, won't even start on a 45 degree day. Anyone else had this prob. or any suggestions? Thanks!!

Default 660 Problem

hey

From what i have seen on this site. most starting problems are results from improper valve adjustment. But i am far from an expert in this manner.

Have him make sure his choke is functioning properly. He can take the top off of the left carb and see the choke plunger operating as he works the choke. Make sure the carbs are secured into the carb boots(make sure the carb boots are'nt ripped too). Has he tried a new plug?
