I thought it was interesting in the dirtwheels limited edition raptor vs banshee that the banshee was faster all the way around. When the raptor was introduced, yamaha said it was the fastest atv to date. dirtwheels (and all the other mags) confirmed this initially, but now that it's not the "latest and greatest" quad they're coming clean with it's real speed numbers. they also said the suspension is very close between the two, which they haven't said up until now. it seems they praise the new quads, hoping they will be bought so the manufacturers will continually make new products. all i have to say is that i knew the banshee was faster all along. it's still the fastest quad out there... at least in a straight line drag. any thoughts or comments on this?

 

Banshee is faster than the raptor in the dunes. I think thats waht they are saying. I saw that too at first.

 

which shootout are you talking about the modified dune shootout or a new one???

The banshee is faster than the raptor top end on pavement i have both 03 limited rap and shee stock the shee is faster. And both piped and jetted with k+n's the shee is faster.

 

One thing that is obviously wrong is the suspension comparism.....the Raptor's suspension is 2X better all around. I like the Banshee, but the front shocks are a joke.

I think they said the suspension was about equal because they tested them in the dunes where bumps are softer and its suspension doesnt feel so rough......thwe banshee front shocks arent that good but the main problem is that they dont last as long as the freakin tires

 

the first time i rode a banshee, i said the shocks were horrible. and i was right. i thought it might of just been me, but i here from all you. so yeah. and the shee is obveously faster. at this sand hill north, the shee wastes everything.
