Default CBR900 into banshee frame

I am in the process of putting a CBR900rr motor into a banshee frame but I want to get some opinions/ pictures/ advice as to where I need to brace the frame. Any websites where people have done similar streetbike motor conversions would help out alot. I have my jig setup to where the motor needs to go but I dont want to get ahead of myself and I dont want to do this job twice. Thanks in advance for the input.

I cant really offer any advise, but I have a question...

Why would you want to do this?
My CBR I had in first gear @ redline would be over 60MPH. IN FIRST!!! Second gear took me to 85 MPH!!! (it was a 6 speed!)

Why would you want a quad that you will hardly ever leave first gear, and considering ATV tires, you will never, ever get into third gear.
(who goes 105MPH on their quad, much less 4th, 5th and 6th gear)

I just feel that street bike motors are not right for quad duty based on their power, RPM, and gear ratio spread, unless you plan to throw some drag radials on it, in that case, why not leave the motor in the bike?

He should be able to go thru the gears just fine. Quad tires are much smaller than CBR tires, covering less ground with each rotation, equating to less MPH per RPM.

Good luck with the conversion.

Someone just had a post of a blaster/CBR600 i think.

This project is for a dunes toy that I can play around with and go fast if I want to. I dont plan on pinning the throttle because the suspension geometry will be way off. Its a mans toy, overbuilt and useless, but its cool at the same time.

Bing, you are correct about the smaller diameter tires equaling lower MPH in each gear.....
but what is the opposite? EVEN MOOOORE POWER!!!!! (smaller tires = lower gearing)

In any case, it will be fun! Gotta say that there is nothing like a quad screaming up a dune making the
wonderfull sounds...... of a streetbike.

I would enjoy this myself! Even more if I was on it.

When I was at Silver Lake, MI, at the dunes, a Banshee went screaming by us,throwing a huge rooster tail of sand, and it sounded like an Indy turbo race car !! We went looking for it, and found it later, surrounded by a group of riders. The owner had put a Suzuki GS 1100 street bike motor in it, had four custom pipes curled under and to the sides, really looked cool. He had a +6 swing arm on it,to keep the front end down on hill climbs and drags, and it was set up very nice, and man did it haul, he could be going 60 or 70, drop a gear down, and spray sand 30 ft. behind him while accelerating. Didn't ask how heavy it was, but I don't think it mattered, the way it flew.
