remove the plastic, the tank, carbs, the valve cover, the head, then the cylinder.

007 I looked at your sight a couple of days ago "good job". But why did you take the top end apart in the frame?
Easier to handle by yourself?

Im curious..why would you take the motor out of the frame to work on the top end? There is absolutely no reason to. Everything is easily accessible with the motor in the frame..and will make your life MUCH easier when you need to torque down the jug, head etc etc. I have my motor completely out of my bike right now to work on the bottom end..and there is no way in hell you could convince me to pull the motor for a top end rebuild. yeah, it was a little easier to move that way but also I didnt want to have the thing moving around on the bench when Im trying to loosen the head or cylinder bolts. It could be done either way really but I think with just 2 hands its easier this way.

I plan on putting it back together the same way
