In about 5 months it willbe time to rebuild my shee. I was thinking about investing in a coolhead and the 370 kit(with porting and polishing). If i put these mods on, will the difference be worth the money? Will my engine still be reliable? We i need to get bigger carbs?

Any information at all would help!!

Banshee350Twin:
I have the CT 370 and I am very pleased with it.. Allen from CT reccommends staying w/ the stock carbs for best all around performance. The bigger you go with carbs the more low end you lose. Or so I am told from Allen. It depends on the type of riding you do and what you will expect out of it. I run the stock carbs and have had great luck but now I want more. As for reliability.. as long as you keep up on maintainance you will be all right.
good luck and let me know if you need any more info

I would hold off on the 370 kit. I have been talking to Allen at CT and he told me they are coming out with a Pro-X 450 kit some time soon, like the kits for the 250R, all new cylinders. Allen told me this thing will beat any other Banshee kit made. It has more bottom, mid-range, and top-end than any other engine kit for the Banshee. The guys at K&K ATV are doing some testing for Allen right now. They are using this motor for a TT bike. If this motor doesnt sound like your thing, then the 370 longrod is a great alternative. I have heard alot of good things about it.

I have a 94 and its time for the overhaul. On my last trip to the dunes I started to hear a scary bottom end tick. I immediately shut it down and haven't run it since. So I'm thinking I may need to mess with the bottom end. Whats up with 370 long rod. What kind of $ are we talking about. Reliability is a must.

Jblough; The 450cc kit that you speak of has been in the works now for almost 2 years... the price tag on it is far from cheap also. Last I heard the 450cc pro-x kit will sell in the range of 2500-2800.00$$$$ I dont think K&K has received that kit from Allen yet either..... I will be there tommorrow so I will check and see if there are any updates. The 370 longrod is a great all around motor depending on porting. I have run the 370 since 96 and have been happy with it..
good luck
