Default banshee question, need help plz!

Hi, in a few weeks i might be getting a 2003 shee, but the big black air filter is bugging me. i live in britian and the places i ride r good in the summer, but in the winter, very muddy and wet. the quad i got at the moment comes home thick with mud all over, and if thats a shee thick with mud, wont it all get into the airfilter and destroy it? because its positioned right at the front of the bike inbetween the lights and that part gets covered in mud!
plz help!

I think you are referring to the radiator. The air filter is under the seat in an air box. It is sealed with a snorkle that comes up by the seat. If you leave that, it should not get any mud in it, unless you go deep.

Maybe I misunderstood you, but I think you are talking about the radiator and not the air filter.

No, the radiator is fully sealed. The mud could just get inbetween each of the tiny metal fins, but that would not harm it. You would need to wash the mud out of the fins with a low pressure hose or a tooth brush. But I highly doubt that any mud will get lodged in there. The radiator cover helps alot, its whats positioned before the radiator itself.

Dont be worried about this, as long as you maintain your quad, it will always run right..

would you say a banshee is good when it comes to reliability? does things very rearly go wrong with them? and if i do the usual maintenance will it run for a long time before things start going wrong?

Maintaning banshees are a little more work than 4 strokes, but if you do everything, they will last just as long. If you eventually need a rebuild it is much easier to rebuild a 2 stroke then a 4. I wish i woulda got a banshee, though i love my raptor
