Raptor '01 and '02 Tranny Gear Ratio Comparisons
I've got an '01 Raptor with an '02 tranny upgrade. But when I was looking at the invoice for the work done by the dealer, I noticed 1st gear and 5th gear was not replaced. Is there any difference in these two gears' ratios between the '01 and '02?
Raptortranny.com suggests changing 1st when the upgrade is done. Does it matter?

They should have replaced
1st gear wheel part # 5LP-17211-10-00
5th gear wheel part # 5LP-17251-10-00
I don't know how they could not as the new parts will not mesh together with the old parts only haveing 3 grooves for the dogs to mesh with the new gears having 4 dogs.

Look on your invoice for "main axle"
1st's pinion is part of the main axle, 5th pinion is the same for both years. You definitely need 1st gear though that goes on the drive axle.
"Pinions" are on the main axle, and "gear wheels" are on the drive axle
