2-stroke oil

Default 2-stroke oil

is it safe to change from one type of oil to another in a used banshee? just bought a 2002,low hours,judging by the front tire wear. i seen a earlier thread on what you guys are useing and haveing luck with and want to change. thanks!

Not really a good idea. Especially if you are changing between Caster, petroluem, and synethic oils.

Try to stay with the same oil, if you must change stay within the boundaries of the type of oil previously used.

i,ll be picking the bike up tomorrow so i,ll know then what he was useing. i had heard the same thing from a mechanic but thought i would get different opinions.

Try MC1 it's very good oil.

I think H1R is to blame for some premature ring wear on a couple of bikes I used to have. This has turned me away from Bel-ray's pre-mix oil. I still run their Gear Saver, but personally I won't run MC1. I love Spectro SX (not golden but SX it comes in a blue bottle). Mix it at 32:1, one bottle to 4 gallons of gas. It is synthetic so you should be fine changing to it.


Congrats on the banshee purchase!

thanks for the advice! i'll try it and stick with it. don't want to be switching around. it turned out it was a 2001. friends of mine who knew the guy said he didn't ride it much so he sold it to get out of it. just ordered a service manual for it and plan on doing a compression check to see where i'm at.
