As stated earlier.....increase your idle RPM's. If that don't fix it, go up on your pilots.

ward660r-yes the boots are the same shape they also have the metal plate in them they are just a lot thicker than the stock boots and dont bellow out under pressure.eventually i think all the stock boots on a raptor should be changed because after being exposed to the elements for years they are going to develop cracks and these poly boots will not.i am not sure as to the composition of the boots as far as 100% poly but they are a very good product and they fit just like stock.replacing these boots probably will not seem like a priority to some but i know of a couple of other raptor owners who have 2002s who also have had this problem and like i said before just think of the worst case scenario and what that sand could do and the cost doesnt seem so bad .

 

If I end up richening the pilot, should I adjust on both carbs, or just one. When the tech at the dealer dialed in my pilots on day1, he said to adjust one.
