The pads should be in about may 30th for those that are waiting for the back orders.

I talked to my dealer (well the one I bought the machine from) and he said there was no problem with the rear brakes at all and he wouldn't be able to look at it until June because the Americade Bike week is coming up, and they probabely wouldn't be covered under waranty. So I called the other area dealer (who will possibly be my new dealer!) and he said he has replaced five sets so far under warranty, but he is backordered until may 30th. He also said he would do it under warranty for me if the other dealer doesn't!

So I called the other dealer back to make an appointment, and told him I didn't care when It gets done because the brakes won't be in untill next week anyway. He that was correct He had a shipment coing around the 30th. So I asked him how come he was ordering brakes if there hasn't been a problem

No answer...

No problems with the brakes in 200 miles of abuse and mud. My dealer said they have not sold any replacement pads thus far out of numerous ones sold. I do spray mine out good after every ride though to get any mud out. I'll keep an eye on them though.

Komatsu,

I don't exactly like replacing my pads every month or two, but I've had to get used to it. I've been running EBC severe duty pads for the last four pad changes and they still don't last very long. They do last longer than the Kevlar or Carbons, but they still wear out fast in the sand and I do thoroughly clean them after every ride. The only way I've found to extend their lifetime is to not ride as much. My last set has held up quite well now that it's jet-ski season

In one of theRock's posts, he indicated that he had received a reply from EBC saying that the rear pads for the Yamaha 2000 Kodiak 4X4 Ultramatic were the FA307R for the regular brake pads and the FA307SV for the severe duty one. I read that some of you have installed those EBC pads.

Around here, there is a lot of mud and my original Yamaha pad did not last 200m. There is no point for me to reinstall Yamaha pads as they are all trained to die quickly. I would like to know if the EBC pads are better than the Yamaha?

Also, I am having trouble getting the EBC pads from my dealer. In Canada, the parts must be imported from the US by a Canadian distributor and unfortunatly, the distributor does not have that part number listed in their manuals therefore, they are telling me that the part does not exist. I would appreciate if one of you can confirm the EBC pad numbers so I could put some pressure on the dealer/canadian distributor?

Your help will be appreciated. I am currently running with worn rear brakes and I would like to install the EBC one as soon as possible.

To theRock. Could you send me a copy of Gerry Gallagher's e-Mail? I would like to show it to the dealer.
