A new member here. Been following the forums for a while. I need some help on something I haven't seen yet. Has anyone done any mods on the old moto4 80s? My grandson's 80 needs some help. Has a rebulit top end and an adapted pipe. Has any one swapped carbs on these things? He wants more power (don't we all) but the quad is perfect for his size and grandpa won't spring for a new one.

I would try an engine swap. Something like a TTR-125 engine. Those 80's are just not tuned for power. Seems that since hte size is right, but the engine is not, i would go for an engine swap. But, i do not think any carb could be retro fitted on there. It would pump way too much gas in to the little cylinder.

I would suspect a port and polish on the head would bring it to life some too. Agian the 80 is pretty small.
