Thumb or Twist Throttle?
#1
I just took the twist throttle off my Raptor after finding it hard to control during MX racing. Its fine for the desert, but my wife wants me to put it on her 03 Rappy. So who uses twist and who likes the thumb throttle better???

I had the Pro Motion and didn't like it. If I would go through the whoops or jump I would hit the gas when I would land. For me it was to hard to control. It was also very sensitive. What a waste of money. I bought and had them install it and the next weekend I put my thumb throttle back on.

I've ridden with both also. I used to convert all my 3-wheelers and quads to twist throttles, but now I'm back to thumb throttles. I guess it's all a matter of personal prefference. I do find that twist throttles are less tiring to ride with, but they can get you in trouble if you are not used of them.

I used to love thumb throttles, cause i rode quads with them so much. But since then, ive owned 2 dirtbikes. and i prefer the twist over anything now. when i ride my friends banshee, my thumb kills after a short while, and i have to take a break. It seems the same with him too. i dont know if thats how he feels, but often we have to stop cause of it. and my thumb never hurts on the YZ. Nore my wrist.

I had a motion pro twist throttle on my blaster with an fmf fatty gold series pipe and I did not like it at all. It was tough in technical terrain and in trails, but fun in wide open areas. I deff. like like the thumb throttle better on a quad. Twist throttles are great on dirt bikes tough.

yeh, that thumb throttle does kill my thumb. Wheather its because I need a new cable (probably) or just that its hard pulling 2 carbs, it still gets sore. When I went to glamis, I rode a banshee with a thumb throttle, and I actually had to stop riding because my thumb hurt that bad. It was the first time Ive ever ridden dunes, so the arm pump I expierenced was crazy, and it got to a point where I was soooo sore. I might think about going to twist throttle, but Im always so strapped for cash from pumping money into other things...

That was one of the set backs for switching back to thumb. Sore thumb and arm pump during races. Does anyone know if the thumb throttle extenders work and if it helps relieve some of the sore thumb syndrome??
