Is there something wrong with Wolverines.

Dude dont worry the wolverine is a solid machine, I am 17 and no liscenced mechanic (or speller heeh) but mine has never had any problems, except for the parking brake thing ehhe but thats a simple adjustment i just never use it!. I have a procircuit pipe, pro design filter system, skid plates, winch, plow and other stuff, i love mine! I have not had to replace anything except the main jett and thats because of my pipe and filter!

I guess I am the only one with this opinion here, maybe I am too thorough when I check my bike over. It just seems that every time I look it over I find another thing wrong. But I also know that some people just put in the gas and every now and then they check the oil and thats it. Then before they know it the bikes falling apart all around them. I know one kid who had a 97 that he said was almost mint. A friend of mine was thinking of buying it so he took me with him to look it over. It did look good for a 3 year old bike. I noticed a couple of small things wrong like front wheel bearings and brake pads but these are wear items right??? then I asked the kid , when was the last time you checked the rearend grease? his reply was" what grease?" After we removed the plug to find the rearend totally full or rusty water the good deal wasnt so good anymore!!!The only thing salavageable in the whole rearend was the aluminum housing. Even the axle was no good cause the center spline was word bad cause the bearings were gone and the axle was floating around
Anybody understand now???
Maybe some of you guys should take a closer look at your bikes and you might be suprised what you might find wrong. Or you can just wait until you hear a strange noise but by then it may be to late.
p.s. Theres no way my bike is the only one with these problems either. They are all the same other than the carb on the 95 is bigger than the rest.
Just my 2 cents .

Everything has it's weak points! The Wolverine from my experience has a soft, poorly engineered rear axle. Some have trouble, others do not. Anything will turn into a pile of dung if the owner doesn't keep it up. Engine wise, always change the oil. I am a little more particualar than most, but then again, I don't have 6 grand to blow every couple years on a toy.
I bought my Wolverine used. It was 6 mo. old. Installed a plow, and basically abused it all winter. Never had a problem, with the exception of the axle. It runs great and can fly through the woods.
How's that saying go, If you wanna get a bear, forget it(kodiak), get a Wolverine instead.

It's been my experience that the Wolv's newer than '96 seem to have most of the problems. I've put my '96 through hell and back, and haven't had a real problem yet. My brother, on the other hand, has a '98, which has given him problem after problem. I've logged at least twice as many hours as he has, and I drive twice as hard. So far he's gone through 3 sets of brakes to my 1, he's bent his axle, and yesterday put a really nasty bend/kink in the frame. We spoke to the dealer about his problems, and the dealer said it seems to be that it is mainly the '97 and newer that experience the problems.
