Default Warrior Problem!

Hi guys I have a question about my sisters 2001 Warrior. The problem is that when I get it started (and it takes forever!), white smoke starts coming out of the pipe and I have to run it for about 10 minutes before it will even idle in neutral without shuting off. Not sure if its a jetting problem or what. All that the warrior has on it is a White Brothers E-Series slip-on and a UNI filter. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Well first things first after adding those mods did you rejet the carb or not. If not that could be your problem. Another thing check the plug. The plug should have a nice tan or brown color to it. If the plug is gray and white I believe that means your running on the lean side if it is black then your quad is running on the rich side. Good Luck!!

Bulldogz,
If you have white smoke, it is oil burning. Whether it is a ring issue or not is the question, I think. White smoke and not idiling are two seperate problems. Idle speed is a thing that needs adjusting depending on temprature and elevation. I was constantly messing with that screw on my old Warrior. I know the stock filter is notorious for letting debris in to the intake track. This might have happened and it might be time for a bore and hone.
Good luck

Thanks guys. 1BadWarrior-Well we bought it used, and the man we bought it from said that he had it jetted accordingly so I've never really checked. I will check the plug tomorrow to see what it looks like.

White smoke is NOT oil. Oil smoke is blue. White usually indicates water. Is it possible your fuel is contaminated? The Warrior is air cooled so it's definitely not coolant.
