Default sorry, had to vent

just ran into a post in the sport quad section. A guy wants to buy a new sport quad for him, and a mini for his kid. he was considering one of these three options, and wanted to keep the same brand for both quads:

660r and raptor 80
pred 500 and pred 90
z400 and lt 80

Now what killed me is this:

and theres the fact that a Z will Smoke a raptor, and for $800 and 5lbs less too. and there also availible in green VIA kawasaki KFX400 and KFX80 (if you like green that is). Or you have the Pred 500 and 90, which are totally in a class of there own when it comes to power output. im not being Biased at all, but for having 262cc over the Z/KFX400 and $800more, and 161cc over the Pred and $500 more, the raptor is Well Underpowered, and is Expensive for something than cant do anymore than a 400 or 500. Plus the Suspension, Handling, and Power on the Raptor 80 is completely Misserable to.

How can we allow for such bad advice in such a respected forum??? I know that the time as a member and number of posts have almost nothing to do with member knowledge, but I'm thinking that this trailblazer with 13 posts might need to keep his mouth shut. I think that the z is an excellent quad, but I dont think that it helps anyone to be given the wrong information.

Someone gave him some bad information. This guy probably thinks that Dirtwheels is the gospel. At least they didn't tell him that the LT80 would beat the 660. He'd probably be riding around on one right next to his kid "Hey look at the weight and money I saved.. Bring it on Raptors!! <put put put>".

LOL. yeah, it is bad info. but not all the way. ex's, Z's, Pred's, rappy's, DS's are all very close. sometimes too close. i think that it depends on how well tuned you have your machine. ive seen Z/KFX's smoke rappy's, then an EX come around and smoke the z, and it goes on and on. it all depends on who is riding it, or mods, or once again how tuned the machine is.

True, but if machines are similarly modded and the owners know how to tune,, well the pecking order becomes a little more apparent.

good points guys. Im not sure how much experience the buyer has, so I was just worried about him getting correct information. I agree that properly modded anything can just about take anything. (in the sport quad world, please dont get technical on me here and start a big flame). I have been beaten by z's on my stock rappy, only to find that they have a 440 kit under the hood.

I see guys all the time on z-400, predators, cannons wish they had bought a raptor after the smoke cleared. The z-400 guys are the worst about that. The dealer told them that z-400 were faster than raptors etc. They all find out the hard way. I am not knocking the z-400, it is a great all around quad, but it lacks in the HP department and it is not realistic to try to make it run with a rappy in a straight line.

BTW the raptor 80 is about the worst quad you can buy. My kid had one and i felt sorry for him after a little while and bought my a lt80. You can make the lt80 into a good running quad.

LT80s are nearly "race ready". Pipe, jet and widen them, then throw them on the track. The LT80s are also bulletproof, AND they are not made in Taiwan. There's been a lot of problems out of many of the Taiwanese minis.
