If you have access to an air compressor, some people have had success by using an air nozzle into the opening at the end of the grip and applying air to the inside of the grip. The grip should fly right off.

What I do is this.
Make sure the grips are warm. At least 70 degrees or above. Carefully slide a small guage mechanics wire between the grip and the handlebar until it comes out the other end. (This is the tough part) Do not poke it through the rubber end! Line up the hole in the end of the grip with the wire using a small screw driver. Once you have got a hold of it pull on both ends of the wire (which now forms a loop) and slowly work the grip off the bar. You will have to be patient and move the wire around the grip and pull on it steadily in a few different locations. It gets easier the farther it comes off.
I have had pretty good luck doing it this way. Only wrecked a couple sets out of many but they were worn some anyway. Patience is the keyword!
Good Luck

I stick a small screwdriver just under the edge of the grip and squirt some wd-40 in there. Work it around a bit and it should slide off easily.

Slide a small blade screwdriver in the end hole and down the lenght of the grip. Pry the grip off the bar slightly. Spray contact cleaner, brake cleaner or Quick start in the cavity. Rotate the screwdriver around the bar to destribute the cleaner. The grip will slide off like S^%$ throu a goose. The chemical will dry with no residue to wip off. To install new ones, coat them and the bar with the same chemical and jam it on before it has time to evaporate. When it dries, the grips will not move. This whole processs takes 5 mins.
