there will be some fuel left behind in small amounts that would cause deposits after drying up or should I say varish.
Good point you have there.

The idea about WD-40 is a good one too. I don't know if WD will work but its a good idea. I wonder how long it will stick to the walls of the cylinder? Something else to think about, and this may be absolutely insane but, make sure your valves are closed. This, in my odd mind, will help to keep any moisture from getting in the cylinder in the first place. Maybe.....I don't know...

I am sure you would agree with this. Stuff something tight in the intake
and the end of the exhaust pipe.
