Default Play in Raptor Rear Shock?

I was washing the Raptor the other day and noticed the rear shock could wiggle about 1/4" of an inch in both directions. I checked the front shocks for play and they do not move at all. 2 more months on the warranty, should I have this checked out, seems like a bad bushing.

if it were me id definately have it checked out. You dont need to be paying for something you coulda gotten for free if you just acted early. Give the bike a good inspection before that warranty ends!

Default Play in Raptor Rear Shock?

I have a 03 raptor and it has play also. I noticed it when I unbolted the top of the shock. It is making a squeaky sound. When I took it of there is no grease. Do you guys know if there should be grease there.

Default Play in Raptor Rear Shock?

Everyone,

I've seen a few threads on this and I'm still not convinced if this is a problem or not... My rear shock twists about a half inch and I'm wondering if it's ok to ride it like that. I'm going riding tomorrow so can we get a couple more opinions on this?

THANKS!

Its not a problem. Your shock has ball type bushings in it that allow for the movement you describe.

Murph66 is correct - it should have some twist.

It shouldnt have any up-down slop. Jack it up so the swing arm hangs free and then work the swing arm straight up and down to check for slop.
