helpppp my banshee wont idle, what to do??

no, it doesn't cause problems to cut the wires. you just unplug a connector from the tors (near the front, top of the engine).

p.s. i hope those guys aren't charging you right now to try and diagnose your problem..... get it home, pop the tors replacemnt kit in and i think you'll be on your way.

man i surely hope so this is making me upset, because its at the shop and i cant do anything, now ehs trying to say its the cdi box, and its popping and stuff shooting and popping, i have no clue...?????

my advice would be to just go pick that sucker up. the cdi box is no small investment, and they would probably charge for additional labor. try out the things mentioned within this thread, then worry about the bigger stuff like cdi boxes when you've checked all the smaller and more proabable stuff. good luck.

well im just worried about it getting fixed, i have a friend with a cdi box for $50 so thats not a problem, im gonna give the guys til friday then im gonna raise some serious hell all up in that shop....thats for the help, if you have nay other opinions drop me a note

well i have a cdi box on the way 1 problem, my banshee is a 99 and wont fit on my 99 cause the cdi box is off a 95, damnit, well i am on the search for a 98-99 cdi box to see if this is the problem... now im being told its the stator cause its losing spark, but the machanic tells me everything checks out fine and still cant seem to find the problem...?????

the stator is easy to check, for shorts, and for power output, just hook up a 60W light.

YES THEY HAVE CHECKED THE STATOR EVERYTHING SEEMS TO BE FINE, STILL WONT RUN RIGHT..

Have them make sure they didn't put the right carb slide in the left carb and the left slide in the right. They also might have twisted the slide around 180 and this will make the slide not come all the way down so one side is open and the other is closed.

WELL I MADE A SERIOUS DESISION TODAY, IM GOING TOMMORROW AND PICKING MY BANSHEE UP, AND WORK ON IT MYSELF, CAUSE NOTHING IS BEING DONE AT THE SHOP, IF I CNA FIGURE THE PROBLEM OUT, ILL TAKE IT TO A MUCH BETTER SHOP AND HAVE IT FIXED, THANKYOU EVERYONE WHO REPLIED ALL THIS INFO WILL BE USEFUL TO ME IN MY VENTURE INTO THE YAMAHA BANSHEE CARBS AND AVERYTHING ELSE IM GONNA HAVE TO GO INTO TO FIND THE PROBLEM, IVE HAD THE BIKE TESTED EVERYTHING CHECKS OUT FINE AND IS LOOKING OK, JUST LOSING SPARK AND ILL FIND THE PROBLEM MAYBE ITS BAD PLUGS OR BAD SPARK PLUG WIRES, I KNOW ITS NOT MY STATOR ITS BEEN TESTED FINE, AND ITS A 99 BANSHEE SO IT CANT BE DONE FOR ALREADY....

well i fixed my banshee myself when a perfecinal shop couldnt fix it for 3 weeks im 16 years old and i figured out how to get rid of my tors system on the carbs, thats what was causing my abnshee to run really crappy and cut off, now it idles and runs great, slop that tors syytem everybody it took me 20 mins to get rid of it, well worth it to, my banshee runs awsome now...thaks for all the help
