What size quad to go to next
My son will be 8 next week and wants to upgrade his eton 50 to something bigger. The Rev limiter wire has been cut and restrictions remove from exhaust. It is considerably faster than the stock one we have but not a full race bike by any means My question is if I buy him a ddr or apex should I look for a 65 to 70cc engine on it or 80 to 90. I'm looking at used race bikes for the better suspension etc. He will do some local fair racing no nationals or anything.
He just needs some bigger and better so he can quit two wheelin the turns and make whoops a little more managmanageable.
I hate to buy one for a year or to and have to change again but I don't know what to expect from these quads compared to his.
Thanks for any suggestions u give.

If he is going to be racing, my advice is to check the divisions he is eligible for based on age and experience before purchasing anything. Quads like the DRR and Apex are pretty easy to make a 70 into a 90 I believe, and there is plenty of power to be squeezed out of those little 2 strokes to boot. Just going with a wider, better suspended machine is going to make him faster in most situations, even with the same motor.
