home made Lift kits
We call it a "Wayne Gretzky" lift kit. You take 2 - 99 cent hockey pucks and cut a 2" hole in the middle then place one under each of the front springs. Personally I didn't like the it with the full thickness so I split mine in half and changed my springs to HD springs from Polaris. This gave me approx 1.5" lift. My 26" tires still rub the fenders but better than it was.

home made lift kit
Hey everyone I am new to the site. I am getting ready to fab up my own lift kit for my1999 polaris magnum 500. Anyone played around with it yet. All i can find out their is 2 inch kits. So figured i would try designing my own and see if 3 inches would work with out binding up anything.I have a mechanical background so this should be fun and any advice is welcome.

Two ideas from my own experience.
If you want a true lift not just stiffer springs you will also have to put a spacer under the actual strut inside of the aluminum housing, match the thickness of the spacer and put one under the spring as well. If you want a stiffer spring make the spacer for the spring taller. If you put 2'' under the strut add 2.5'' and your spring will be stiffer.
I went with 3'' lift when I put gorillas in my old 700 popo and I continued to brake balljoints. The stud would break off and leave you stranded. I never tried it with stock axles. May be to much for stockers not sure? Once I cut my lift down to 2'' never had a problem with the balljoints. The extra 1'' of groundclearence wasn't continually being stranded.
Please don't think I am trying to tell you it won't work but I had problems with mine. I even tried to bend the a-arm to accomodate teh angle at the balljoint. Keep us posted and take pics.

welcome to the forum. what do you mean your axles lift your tires if both sides are even when you did the lift, assuming there isn't another issue like dragging brakes or a bad wheel bearing, then it should not be pulling to one side, unless the one side is locked into awd. try to give a little more info on what is happening to see if we can help you figure it out.
