Is it the 10th digit of the of the VIN that is the year on a Suzuki ATV?

I have looked at several web sites and think that the 10th digit is the year, but can someone that knows for sure the year of their Vinson check your Vin and confirm for me. My 10th is 7. Bought it second hand with no title and previous owner did not know for sure the year. It has the digital gas gauge so I know it is not a 02 or 03.

might want to call your local suzuki dealer, they should be able to help. good luck with the vinson, one of my favorite bikes i have owned.

 

This is my 4th one, really do not know why I sold the other 2 that were foot shifts, mainly the 03 I bought in 2012 with 240 miles on it. Sold the first cause it was an auto, but it still was a great quad looking back. In my opinion they are the best all around quad for the money and I have owned over 20 atvs in the past 5 years.

 

I'd still be riding mine if stepson had not wrecked it! replaced it with a KQ400. it's like a vinson jr. no regrets but i do miss the power.

 

First post here. I have ridden many quads including some very new high dollar quads of all makes and shapes. So recently I decided to sell my snowmobiles and my Banshee in favor of 4 utility quads. While I dearly miss my Banshee and will also miss my snowmobiles, they were both so specific in their use and applications...limited...especially the snowmobiles. Utility quads just make more sense for me and my kids needs on a nearly 4-season basis. They will also enhance our existing passions/hobbies of hunting, fishing and camping as well as for chores etc.

Anyway, I recently bought 4 quads...3 of them are Vinsons, all autos, a yellow 2003 yellow with 2100 miles, a camo 2005 with winch & 3100 miles (my favorite) and finally a green 2006 with winch, plow & 1100 miles.

That all said I too would agree that I think Vinsons (and their replacements KQ's) are one of the biggest bangs for the buck on the used quad markets. Definitely one of the most solid all around quads with proven reliability & low maintenance. They have great power, even powered through the whole power-band, well mannered even for novices while enough torque and power for work and keeping even the experienced rider happy. Handling is great and maintenance is low.

May seem crazy to have three of the same quads but I also really like the ability to only have to really know only one system to know & maintain especially used. The parts interchangeability is always nice too. (Learned that from my Jeep Rock Crawling days.)

I know this is a 5 year old thread but i have the same problem with mine it will idle ok but when you give it gas under load it bogs out. Is that what yours was doing or can anyone give me suggestions? Cleaned the carb adjusted the float gas tank is clean has a inline fuel filter i put on that isnt dirty and its getting gas cause the bowl is full. I checked the timing chain and the valves all is good and has 155 compression on original piston and rings. Im lost
