Default 2003 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 any good?

This is my first time posting on here but I'm looking at a 2003 yamaha 400 automatic 4x4.It looks very clean and in good condition from the pics besides that it'll need better tires than the stock ones on it but are there any things on it that I should look out for on it or any common problems with that model and year and is $2400 a good price?

They are very good machines, check the wheel bearing for play, ensure the 4wd engages. Check the engine and air box for signs of being submerged.

The cam and/or followers can wear but this will be audible when the engine is running. As well as the electrical side of the 4wd system, where the motor can fail, the front prop shaft splines can wear out at the engine end and are a pig to replace on auto Yamahas so, if possible, check that the front wheels are “fixed” to the rear ones when 4wd is engaged. Also the swinging arm weldment can break if abused. Other than that, these bikes are very reliable and tough.

except for the motors, most all Yamaha 4x4 with a straight axle share the rest of the same parts.
You have me worried now. LOL
