Welcome to the forum caisse! If you or some one you know cant take the carb apart and clean it. Myself or a few other guys here could talk you thru it. I would email Raceway for a replacement carb. They are one of the sponsors here.

Default Yamoto 150 carburetor

sorry for bumping an old thread, but i just recently purchased a used raptor style Yamoto 150cc quad. It has all the symptoms with not running/starting as some others here. It has an electric choke, and I would like to know how to bypass it. I live in Florida, so the weather is usually warm. Thank you.

atver,
I would give john a call and get new jets for the carb. Many of the problems with that carb is too lean jets. Mine were also poorly made and the holes were even smaller than intended. A little gunk in the gas and you are done. The electric choke is really an enricher valve that closes as the bike warms up. It gets blamed alot until you see how it works to understand. Try oregonvintage.com to see alot of tips on the 150's.
Tim, hope this helps

Thanks baker, that is very helpful info. That site has alot of good stuff I was looking for. Gonna give John a call tommorow when theyre open to see about a new carb.
I have another question about the bike if anyone can tell me. The rear axle has a gear box on it, but it was listed as not having reverse. There is a gear on top, which you can see by the image here:

Is that for reverse? Theres no neutral that I can find, so it could be that as well I guess, just not sure. I dont even know what year it is.

I uploaded pics to my profile, but itll take time for them to approve. For now, if anyone can tell me what year it is, the rest of the images are here:

Thanks.
