Default VBike or Jetmoto 250

Outofline, I will keep everyone posted. Sounds like I am at where you were a year ago. My next step is to figure out a 150 for my wife. She is 5'2" about 110 pounds. Sounds like you like the Jet 150 automatic? That seems to be the direction I will head for her once she gives in. I looked at the 150 VBike on the website and it has a Hensim motor, which I was told to stay away from, so I think for her I will go the Jet route. Ironically, I will probably spend more on the Jet 150 then I have my 250 V4-S. I would love to come to Utah to ride. I have already made arrangements to take all the new quads up to Wisconsin to a friends property (200 acres) in a few weeks to break them in and run them through a little harder paces. My friend who owns the property has a TRX 250 and a Blaster 440, he wants to see how the VBike holds up with them. If it does well, he may dump the Honda 250 and go the VBike route to save himself the money, it is a second home and they don't ride them a whole lot. I will take some pics on that trip and give everyone my thoughts afterwards. I agree with you, the Jets and VBike seem dead even, in the end, it was the cost difference that did it for me. Heck, at the price for the VBike, I could dump another 500.00 worth of mods into it and still be ahead of the game.

Biskit134 - I agree, no way I will fit 4 on there, that is why I was looking for something wider. I figured (by dimension) if I went with a kids and a full size paired up in each row, that I could face them forward side by side. That would put me right at that 7 - 7.5 foot wide range (squeezing them). Where are you getting your 6.5 x 16 from? I liked the Phoenix trailer on line, but I couldn't see where they had anything at the size you are getting. My buddy has an enclosed aluminum trailer I can use in the interim, but rather have my own as soon as possible so I don't have to "bum" his. And I agree with KMan, I liked your video of the Jet and the work you did, after all of this research, I just don't thnk there is anything else out there that seems to fit the quality bill as much as the Jetmoto, VBike and at the kid level, I really like the Kazuma's so far.

I would not go inside the motor for performance upgrades. At it's very best, the Lifan is still a Chinese engine, and doing something dramatic could make it pop like a champagne cork. However, I know they have stepped up their game with a 400 twin. I would like to ride something with that engine on it. I hope it is a good bike for you. It does not look like that they are looking for dealers, or I would get one to put up against the Jet to decide which brand to sell as an alternative to the DRR line I am selling...

Can you tell me how much assembly you will have to do?

Biskit and Outofline - I will shoot some pics and video as well as document the assembly. That is one of the concerns I have, although I am guessing whatever there is, it will be more time consuming than difficult. I agree, I won't go into the motor, actually if it lives up to my expectation and what KMan has said, I think I would just leave well enough alone except for some topical stuff. It looks like I will see it Monday, so I am gonna have to "work from home" that day. I am outside of Chicago and we have had snow and below zero temps since NYE, however I am looking at 50+ degrees on Sunday/Monday so delivery day and unpacking should be alot easier. I will snap some pics and upload them so you guys can see how it shows up etc. I looked at outoflines delivery day picks and from what I have been told by Tim at VBike, I can expect the same delivery packaging and assembly etc.

What do you recommend for the gel packs in the float bowl? Just let it idle in place for the first 30 minutes or so to let it dissolve steadily? That seems to be the general consensus. Also I ran 10w40 honda oil in the two Kazuma's, any better way to go? I have used that in every Honda I have since day one and have never had any issues.

I feel it all depends on the out side air temp your riding in. Your vbike is 100% air cooled (unlike the better ATV the Jetmoto ) so I personally would not run 10/40 (but I am a anti 10/40 person and would never run it in anything). In the summer heat I would only run 20/50 in it but is too thick for winter. I did run 15/40 last year!

I planned on the 20/50 in the summer months. What have you run in the Jetmotos in the cooler weather?

I did run 10/40 motorcycle oil thru mine no peticular reason msybe so I could pay more for the oil. There is not a whole lot of assembly on the vbike,I think just the typical chines assembly. And yes Tim will take on dealers. There is a guy southeast of me about 60 miles that sells to his local.
