VBike or Jetmoto 250

I must say Mr. kczukiman, your reviews and pics are comforting, I have ordered 3 dirt bikes and 1 atv online and 3 out of the 4 were somewhat different than the the picture. I am beginning to know what to look for in Budget Toys ( as I call them) namely Upgraded carbs and GREASE FITTINGS! The spark plugs that come in most units definately need to be replaced ( they will fail with an hour of use).
Oh. One question...How loud is the Vbike?? My daughter's 100cc is so quiet you can hear it running, my son's bike is so loud that I can only let him ride for little hops aroung the house for fear the neibors will revolt! I'll sacrifice some power for some stealth!!
Thanks to all you folks that are expanding the knowledge base! Keep it up!

Chukking - I will keep you posted. Mine is due to arrive on Monday. I got the tracking number from Tim last night and R+L is showing it picked up and on it's way. Thankfully I am busy with work and kids or the anticipation might be getting to me more. I will upload some pics on Monday night. Congratulations on the purchase!

Hey Kman can you count your teeth on the front and rear sprockets for us, if they (Jet and Vbike) are the same motor they may have the same trans gearing so the only difference may be the final gearing.

I feel it all depends on the out side air temp your riding in. Your vbike is 100% air cooled (unlike the better ATV the Jetmoto [img][/img]) so I personally would not run 10/40 (but I am a anti 10/40 person and would never run it in anything). In the summer heat I would only run 20/50 in it but is too thick for winter. I did run 15/40 last year!</end quote></div>
What do you suggest to run in the winter?
I was just about to go out and handle some oil changes in the 110's with regular 10w40(same stuff I put in my car), THEN i read this...and now I'm gonna hold off till I get some more opinions, lol

Thanks kczukiman, the jet comes with 15 front and 40 rear. Mine is now 14 Front and 40 rear. Wonder what mine would be like if it matched yours?</end quote></div>
An expensive vbike!

I use to sell auto parts back in the 80's, back when 10/40 was what most manufacturers recommended and I had many customers come in complaining of noisy lifter sounds. They asked what oil treatment to use and each one I suggested to drain the 10/40 and run only 10/30 and in all cases they came back happy they did. I know it's just my opinion and I have no facts to back it up but what manufacture today recommends 10/40, most recommend 10/30! Your running an 100% air cooled motor, why would you want to run the thinest oil? Many think these multi velocity grades cover all temp ranges but they truly don't.
I just looked in my Jetmoto Owners manual and it states "Engine Oil 15w/40"! Actually Jet has a oil temp recommendation chart in their 250 Owners Manual and they do not even show 10/40 as an viable oil option!

Looks to me like the only oils they are recommending for the range from 32deg to 100deg is 15w/40, 20w/40 or 30. For winter I would just suggest 15/40, valvoline use to have a 15/40 Turbo that I was always fond of but don't know if it's made any more. I ran this in a Kick start Honda XL500 that was still thin enough to kick start in below freezing temps (and that was a 500cc) but thick enough to protect a Turbo.
Seeing how I have not seen 20w/40 for sale here I would run 20w/50 for the heat of the summer that can go 95-105deg out riding here in Utah.
Now again just my opinion, and Jetmotos!
