Default HELP ME sunl piece of 150cc garbage

i know it was a mistake but i bought a sunl 150 (well its really 124cc but they called it a 150 in the ad) scooter. when i did the break in tune up the plug brought threades out with it. i tore it down to the base head and repaired the factory mishap. when i went to put it back together i couldnt get fire in the pipes. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME THE PROPER TIMING PROVISION???. im also having carb\vaccum issues. i'm ase certified mechanic and im pretty embarrassed about the fact that i cant get fuel and timing to 1 cylinder. anyone that can help would be a god send. i need to get this heap running and get it off my hands, ill be selling it for peanuts as soon as its goin

thanks
nick

Is this a GY6 clone engine? If so there service manuals out there for this engine available for free on the internet. Do you have a service manual? You really don't need a SUNL specific service manual. Any GY6 manual from scooters to buggies will work for the basic engine stuff.

It used to be that you couldn't search for GY6 anything without stumbling across zillions of service manual sources. For some reason many of those links are now broken. But there are still some working links out there. Let me know if you can't find one.

Welcome to the forum gotohellsunl!

LOL at your name...guess your really upset with the thing? SunL has had a few hate threads in the past...

Are you trying to set the cam timing? Flywheel on TDC mark and the cam set with the valves closed? There are usually lines and or a arrow to set the cam sprocket in relation to the top of the head..

As for the carb issues..do you still have the oring that seals the manifold to the carb?

Default gy6 clone?

im not sure how i would even know if it was a gy6 clone? im an automechanic and obviously as seen by the purchase of such a large piece i dont know the first thing about scooters or bikes, well i do now
as for the cam timing the are arrows on the flywheel and i do have them aligned to to alignment dowel on the engine. the carb has all the origional seals and it will sputter on starter fluid. if anyone has any iodeas let me know and if u can help me identify the engine for being a gy6?clone
lemme know
thanks again

The gy6 is a long flat looking engine because the CVT (belt transmission) is running down the left side(when sitting on the scooter). On the right side is a usually a plastic shroud that aids in cooling the engine....Here is a pic of my partially disassembled gy6 150.

Did you check the valve clearance when you put it back together?
