Default Advice on TAOTAO 150cc Automatic

Hello Everyone! Since I am new I hope I am not duplicating this question. I did look around but was not able to find my answers.

My questions is regarding the Automatic trans. When you are at a stop and hit the gas will the machine move quickly off the line? Or is it a lot like a go cart?? Lot of noise and no go. I am concerned if I get one of these would it be able to accel up a hill from a stop.

Hope someone can help me out..

I've never run one of these, but from what I've read, they seem like the best setup going for the gas-n-go, "automatic" crowd. They operate as a CVT as opposed to a single speed centrifugal clutch like the ~125cc and under have. This type of CVT should give you better RPM/ground speed control. Inside the aluminum case is a belt, then a chain from the output to the sprocket on the rear axle. The engine is fan cooled, so it should cool more efficiently at low speeds.

Welcome to the forum CodemanX!

It isnt neck snapping power, but its not like a centrifugal clutch go cart...both of mine accelerate as fast as my 200 and while neither of mine will do wheelies, both will climb hills they have no right being on... not fast but lots of low end pulling power..

Even at part throttle it will get up to full speed without revving very high.

we put a bigger (3 tooth) rear sprocket on the wifes 150 cc gy6 and she followed me up some steep rocky terrain just the other day ....was surprised she did it but she said she had not problems whereas before she would have had problems.

If it is a GY6 based motor/trans, then there are all kinds of ways that you can tune the trans on that to make it the way you want it. Its a very reliable transmission.
