Redcat vx-80 Carb problem
#22
Just take your time... no need to hurry.. remove all the adjustment screws on the outside and jets in side the bowl... spray everything thru with carb cleaner and compressed air if available...
One thing to be very careful of, dont get carb cleaner on anything made of rubber.. it will grow to a useless size fairly quickly.

Set the fuel screw at 2 turns out from screwed all the way in...The idle screw is on the bracket the throttle cable connects to.. it doesnt need to be removed.

Well I put the carb back on..... It starts when I spray starting fluid in. The throttle now works, but it cuts off in a few seconds. Acting like it is a choke problem possibly. What can I do if it is a choke problem? Could this be a screw adjustment. The one screw is turned out 3 1/2 turns.

If it wont start without spraying starting fluid in it... The carb isnt right... either not cleaned enough, or the float isnt set right..
Id guess the pilot jet and or circuit isnt clean...could you see light thru both jets after you cleaned them?
There is no adjustment for the electric choke...it either works or it doesnt.

could it just be the electric choke then? If not, there was a screw/jet under the float (not the float needle) it was rusty and so I didn't try and take it out. Is that something that I should remove and try and clean? Do you know what it is?

Maybe take a pic of the carb with the bowl off (or maybe you did?) and post it?
