Default Redcat vx-80 Carb problem

I just got a redcat vx-80 given to me. It will not start/run. I changed the plug and took out the air filter (just to test). I took the big hose that was connected to the air cleaner off and sprayed starting fluid into the carb. The engine turned over briefly. Since then I can't even get it to start with the starting fluid. Any help would be appreciated. I am unable to find a choke on it...........

Thanks in advance,

Default Carb Cleaning

I wouldn't mind replacing the carb..... However, I have been unable to find one online that resembles mine (my carb does not have a choke). How can I be sure that whatever I order online will work? I have no experience with cleaning carbs or adjusting them. Looks easy enough to take off though......

Cleaning is fairly straight forward... but intimidating the first time..

Could you post a pic of your carb?

Default redcat vx-80 carb cleaning

Yes I can post one but I am at work so I will have to do it tonight..... Does it make sense that there is no choke? Also, when I looked at the carbs online, they all had chokes and most had the throttle cable enter from the top. This has the throttle on the side.... If you are sitting on the seat facing forward, the throttle is on the right side of the carb.....

Are their any wires going to the carb? (electric choke)

My Yamoto 150 came with a electric choke and the cable mounted to the side on a sort of wheel..

maybe, I'll take a look tonight....I know that on the opposite side of the throttle there is a black plastic cap that looks like it may be cracked or broken....that might have a wire going to it.....
