Default timing marks

I have an older (I don't know the year) 49cc quad. the motor was apart (head was off) I put it back together but it seems as the timing isn't right. I don't think I have the cam chain right where are the timing marks on the flywheel/case and on the cam and cam gear? Any info would be gratly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum 49cc redcat!

Usually There is a T (TDC) on the flywheel that lines up with a pointer on the cases.... or maybe in the cover if the cover has a face plate...

On the cam its usually 2 dots or lines that line up with the edge of the head at TDC.
