I can not get my Sunl carberator to idle.

It will idle with the choke closed, but when you open the choke it dies. I have taken the whole thing apart and have looked for a visual on parts...I may have dropped a spring that should be in the bowl, not sure though since I take apart a whole lot of things...is there supposed to be one in there? This has been a three week process so far, would like to finish so my kiddos can just enjoy!

you did read the carb sticky in the chinese section, correct? that'll help you a lot.
cold start-engage choke
warmed up-disengage choke
after it's started and the choke is disengaged, if it won't idle, it's very possible the idle jet is partially/totally plugged up. the carburetor will need to be removed and the jets pulled for cleaning(might as well do both jets while the carb is pulled and apart--that'll save you some headaches). all orifices and down the jet longways need to be clean enough to see daylight through them. put carb back together and try it. some floats have a spring that hold the needle valve in the hole from the float assembly. not sure how a SunL is set up, but that may be something to consider. you'll know it if it floods or if it sticks closed. just make sure the crankcase oil level is not contaminated with gasoline. if it is, then change the oil, pull the carb and fix the malfunctioning float assembly.
plenty of videos on carb cleaning that show detail on youtube....search for atv carb cleaning or something similiar to that topic
